Fire from the Lord [HD]

What a fake show
I live in the middle of a Amish Community, Lancaster County, PA. This show is so fake, just like "Breaking Amish" was. Shame on the producers of this show, using lies about the Amish to make money.

Fake show
Nothing more to be said except it is totally fake and not worth watching. It is sad that Discovery is taking advantage of the Amish community in this way.

Amish Redneck mafia
This is trash TV. Mostly lies and it's making the amish people look like rednecks. The cast isn't amish and the story lines are stupid.

The Reluctant Fundamentalist

Coping with a time of Terrorism
For those who have read Mohsin Hamid's brilliant novel on which this film is based the story will be easier to follow than the somewhat disconnected screenplay that was written by Hamid with Ami Boghani and William Wheeler. Mira Nair directs, and knowing her previous work suggests that it is this very disconnect that she wishes to emphasize in this profoundly moving film - in these times of global unrest and fear because of terrorist acts we don't know who to trust and who to dislike, but the answer is that there is no right or wrong. Nair achieves this by beginning her film with a conversation between an American journalist Bobby (Liev Schreiber) and a Pakistani professor Changez (Riz Ahmed) in a setting of high tension in a bar in Lahore and our initial belief is that the Bobby represents the core we trust and with whom we identify, that Changez is the unknown `different culture' stranger who is suspect. In the course of the film that position is deeply altered. And that is where...

Moving and thought provoking
Reading the plot blurb at the rental store for this movie made it sound intriguing, but when I saw it was also directed by Mira Nair, who did such good jobs on the entertaining yet emotionally deep Monsoon Wedding, Water and The Namesake, I knew it would be good, but I didn't know how moving it would be, nor profound in it's deeper reminder that looks can be (and often are) deceiving.

Without wanting to say too much and give away the story which keeps the suspense and drama taut and fast paced, I want to add my 2cents worth to those who say this is a great story with interesting twists and layers of realistic emotion, leading to a vision of humanity that is perhaps more optimistic than is currently warranted (in reality we'd have seen the launch of a deadly drone near the ending...). It brings up issues of Western hegemony, terrorism and national security, personal ambition and integrity (and in this way reminds me of the less nuanced...

An Indictment of Post-9/11 Paranoia And Prejudice: The Powerhouse Novel Gets An Effective Adaptation
Adapting the critically acclaimed 2007 bestseller "The Reluctant Fundamentalist" by Pakistani author Moshim Hamid, director Mira Nair had a number of challenges to face. The novel is a complex and challenging look at a post-9/11 world and has been pretty universally praised and even studied on college campuses. Shortlisted for the Booker Prize, it is a book that instantly connected with the zeitgeist of attempting to understand how both the terrorist acts on that fateful day and the U.S. response to them had forever changed the world in which we lived. The story is told entirely through the eyes of a young Pakistani man who embraced the American dream before ultimately feeling betrayed by it. When trying to adapt such a seminal and personal work, it is virtually impossible to satisfy everyone. When a work becomes "important" (for lack of a better word), any adaptation will likely be scrutinized and judged to fall short. And indeed, the critical response to "The Reluctant...

The Powerbroker: Whitney Young's Fight for Civil Rights [HD]

Informative & Evocative
Until I watched this documentary, I mistakenly believed that I had a firm grasp of the who's who list among the leaders of Civil Rights Movement. Though I had heard of Whitney Young, I had no idea how pivotal his role was in the movement. I had always credited Dr. King, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Andrew Young and a few others with the actual work of breaking down racial barriers in corporate board rooms and with the remediation of employment discrimination generally - though that is not yet complete. Also, because Dr. King was present when President Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act, I have until now credited President Johnson's support of the Act and his subsequent War on Poverty legislation to his relationship and quasi friendship with Dr. King

Apparently, that was not the case. In politics looks are deceiving because what is presented to the American public is often little more than stagecraft. President Johnson's relationship with Dr. King was, in reality, little more than...

Forgotten hero of the civil rights movement
Whitney Young Jr level the civil right movement on the corporate front and is responsible for corporate commitment to diversity. Now forgotten, he is a true hero of the movement, a hero to social workers - and social workers could use an activist leader like Whitney as an example now.

The Scrambler [HD]

Tattoo Nightmares
Fun show to watch. These are three very good tattooers. Tommy helm was a finalist on season one of Ink Master.

Excelent!
Full disclosure: this mostly has to do with season two. Moving on!

The next time you think about getting a tattoo, watch this show first!

Through this series, I have learned a few things about getting a tattoo such as:

-Don't do it after you have gone on a 48-hour binge drinking session after dumping your girlfriend for cheating on you.

-don't get a tattoo simply for the purpose of offending your ex.

-if you're a a woman planning on getting a tattoo just below your no-no area, don't get something with flames on it, especially if you have a job that requires you to be scantily clad, or else you'll be given the nickname "Fire Crotch".

-family trips to the tattoo parlor are never a good idea.

-if your girlfriend dumped you because you cheated on her, don't tattoo her initials on your body.

-if there's a guy at a party with a tattoo kit offering to tattoo you, pass.

-if your friend just...

American Sasquatch Hunters: Bigfoot in America

Good but familiar
This documentary, mostly shot at the East Coast Bigfoot Conference in 2011, is produced and directed by Jay Michael (Swamp Apes, Honey Island Swamp Monster, Bigfoot FAQ) and features some familiar faces from the Bigfoot Community, such as Eric Altman, Steve Kulls, Billy Willard, Dave Dragosin, Stan Gordon, Rick Tullos, Tim Cassidy and Dr. Jeff Meldrum discussing their thoughts and theories on what Sasquatch is. The evidence is discussed (footprints, film, DNA, things of that nature), but also the Kill or No-Kill discussion is brought in, with Tullos being the sole proponent of the Pro-Kill argument. When the P/G Film is discussed, Jay uses a photo of Bob Gimlin I allowed him to use for the documentary. Some parts of this were shot in Mississippi with Jay Michael as the host. All in all, this one is good, but not great, mainly due to the familiarity of the subject to us. I wold have preferred more eyewitness accounts and maybe some recreations. There is an actor in a Sasquatch suit...

Sasquatch Seen : News at 11
This documentary from REality Films is pretty good and brings in some information, Not heard before.
Not thrilled with talking heads before the same brick building.
The faux footage of the BIGFOOT is similar to "Andre The Giant" version seen in `Six Million Dollar Man ` tv episodes seen in the '70′s.
The Zapruder,I mean The Patterson/Gimlin film of perhaps a real Bigfoot is referenced and lends more credibility.

Tap In Tap Out [HD]

Trash TV at its best!
I own every season of Bad Girls Club and I absolutely love it. If you are looking for a show that makes sense or a show you can learn something from I assure you this isnt that kind of a show. You could probably learn some fighting techniques. All in all every season will give you exactly what it says. BAD GIRLS. I love it. You either love the girls or hate them but it will be entertaining for sure.

Whoaa
This season has average girls nothing special about them really but I like Mimi and Jazmone they're cute hopefully the season will get better

Ratchets.
This show is absolutely bananas. This season is already crazy a house full of lunatics. What can I say that's entertainment.
